BrokerIntelBot is the reader behind BrokerIntel, a directory of FX and CFD brokers. If you saw it in your logs, this is what it does.

What it reads

The public pages of brokers' own websites: the home page and a few pages about accounts, platforms, legal entities, fees and partners, about once a week. It never signs in, never fills in forms and never solves a captcha. A site that turns bots away stays unread.

What it keeps

Facts about the firm, such as its account types, platforms, licences and the names and roles of its leadership, each with a link to the page and the day it was read, plus short quotes as evidence. Never emails, phone numbers or street addresses, and never whole pages.

How it behaves

A handful of pages per site per visit. It identifies itself as BrokerIntelBot/1.0 with a link to this page.

Use the form on the home page and say what and where, and it is done.
